The Temple & The Gold

Woe to you, blind guides, who say, “If anyone swears by the temple, it is nothing, but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.” You blind fools! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that has made the gold sacred?
Matthew 23:16-17

It is the temple which sanctifies the gold adorning it.
A temple full of idols is a temple adorned by fool’s gold.

A wicked and perverse generation seeks after and swears by a sign; but it is those having died with Christ, whose life is hidden with Him and not with idols – these are His true temple, these are His true sign. For within these does the kingdom truly consist: not in talk, but in power unto holiness and righteousness.

The Imminence of the Kingdom

The imminence of God’s kingdom is determined by HIS preeminence within the heart of each citizen thereof.

And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, “The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: neither shall they say, Lo here! or, Lo there! For, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”
Luke 17:20-21
