A Word for the Branches

Here me, O young branches, you which are the newest buds of the tree: despise not the branches which are before you, if they leave you not naked. Nor despise the great trunk, if it lifts you up to heaven; nor neglect the wisdom of the roots unseen, if by their strength you are grounded, and if by their humility you are fed. For unless such a good tree is stunted in growth, you will also become like the branches before you, covering the nakedness of the new with glory. But if the tree is bereft of life, then you will be the first to wither. Pray then, you who are nearest to heaven, that even should the rest of the tree fail beneath you, you may yet be established. For many a tree in the orchard of the Lord has indeed been found unworthy of His planting.

Woe therefore to the older branches, if they fail to gracefully cover the nakedness of the new branches – they have despised the need of the younger. And woe to the trunk which which draws up no life for them both to grow – it has stripped itself of all glory. But woe also to the roots, which though having ample ground to grow in, yet spread themselves not lowly for the good of all the rest – the axe has been laid to them, and the whole is ready to fall.

And the crowds asked Him, “What then shall we do?” And He answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”

Therefore, O living branches, all you that love the rain of the Lord’s heaven, and the light of His countenance, and the sureity of His ground: Give the Life of God to those who truly love it, but suffer no more the barrenness of this creaking tree, lest you be felled along with it. Then you will be found grafted into the tree of the Lord’s own planting, having been pruned from the one that has died. Plant not yourselves, nor be planted any longer in the wisdom of former tree, which has no Life of God. But let the Lord Himself establish you, even as you establish one another in HIM; and you will together be found as His own planting: a tree of His heavenly splendor not withering.

Pearls Before Swine

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
Matthew 7:6

The assumption on our part that most people who claim to be born-again are actually saved leads to a great deal of fretting and spiritual expenditure over brethren which do not exist. It leads to distracted sheep trying to carnally herd goats while the rest of the true sheep languish, and it leads to ravenous wolves finding easy prey among the sheep and goats alike in the false name of love and acceptance.

We have incurred the judgement of God and done ourselves a great disservice by never assuming that many a false disciple, and even Judas himself at times, lurks in almost every context. But if His true sheep were truly being fed and warned, then the goats would either convert or be driven away by the Word going forth; and the wolves would be more easily spotted. As it stands today, the wolves rule, the goats are kept warm, and the sheep have been scattered.

We have been rent by the swine, for we have needlessly cast our pearls before them. Great is the fall of this house.

Our Lady of the Maculate Deception

Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

The Devil well knows that men long for participation in something greater than themselves, and that most will blindly descend to any depth of hell to keep the feeling of such alive. This is why the institutions, organizations, and movements which falsely call themselves the “church” in our day continue marching on into the mouth of destruction as though they have never lost God.

These empty husks which have long ensnared many a true member of the body of Christ have largely been abandoned by God and are now being emptied of His obedient children; for they have together become a repurposed corpse, animated by the spirit of antichrist.

Today we hear the cooing of their religious and “spiritual” leaders to involve the power of earthly governments and institutions in what they suppose to be the work of God. They will certainly help “change the world;” and in so doing remain bound to its fate.

Do not build the house of the Lord, for only He can build His church; and all else becomes a brothel of Babylon. To satiate the hunger for righteousness by her bread, and to quench the same thirst with her cup, is to engage in her abominations. Those who thereby aquire her tastes soon lust also after the blood of the saints, and are swift to harken unto the powers and principalities of the earth.

Though many among them speak much of justice for the weak and equity for the poor, truly it is the great dragon speaking as a lamb. For these hearts, which the mystery of iniquity so easily pervades, are ravenous against what is holy; because the light of holiness exposes the pretention of man’s ways. The Light by nature demonstrates that to serve man is to be excluded from service to Christ; all service not directly unto Christ becomes the boast of the wicked one.

And upon these sayings is often made manifest the hearts of the pure and the hearts of the whores: for the whores will not abide such talk. Upon the hearing of it, they cringe and spit and hiss and taunt, and run back to their mother Babylon to recieve instruction. Then she says to them, “Request of the earthly ruler: Give to me the heads of the holy on a platter,” and the heathen king will not deny her this deed; for he is blinded by his own lusts also.

There is no spirit with which she will not readily commune, nor bed of deception upon which she will not gladly lie. There is no abomination which she will not flaunt, nor depth of depravity from which she will forbid herself. There is no scheme of man with which she will not conspire, nor man of God whom she will not attempt to claw into hell with her.

She is what men today call the church; and her great power is the fruit of men’s refusal to discern and judge the spiritual. Few that willingly enter into covenant with her escape her spell, and all who stand against her power must by necessity be marginalized, slandered, and eventually persecuted; for these look for a city whose builder and maker is God, and these submit to His authority at the cost of all others.

There is no more remaining in Babylon and serving God; it is time to return to the holy land. To leave behind her comforts and religious activities at first seems an exile; but in the wilderness are found many waters which can come only from God. She will always be there to draw away and lay waste to the saints. By the hand of Ceasar she will betray without remorse those who naively mistake her for a holy woman. She cannot be converted: a man-made system cannot possess its own soul. Its soul can only be possessed by another, and it is not the Spirit of God; for He concerns Himself with the betrothed of Christ, that she be found chaste and holy.

Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you take partake in her sins, lest you share in her plagues; for her sins are heaped high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.”
Revelation 18:4-5

Babylon, Babylon, mother of harlots:
How far you will fall, great whore of the earth!
Wrath you will reap, for by envy you war
With the saints in whom Christ is found birthed!

The Command Which Tries The Hearts

Truly then, God overlooking the times of ignorance, now strictly commands all men everywhere to repent, because He set a day in which He is going to judge the habitable world in righteousness, by a Man whom He appointed; having given proof to all by raising Him from the dead.
Acts 17:30-31

The gospel is proclaimed as much for judgement as it is for salvation. It is the seed of the Sower which reveals the existing nature of the ground upon which it falls. We have not paid careful attention to what Jesus said immediately after explaining the parable of the sower…

But no one lighting a lamp covers it with a vessel, or puts it underneath a couch, but sets it on a lampstand, that those coming in may see the light. For nothing is hidden which will not be revealed, nor secret which will not be known and come to be revealed. Then observe how you hear; for whoever has, it will be given to him; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him.
Luke 8:16-18

The same Word of God which He first described as a seed, He now describes as a light that reveals the true substance of whatever it touches. Those “coming in” to the kingdom see the light of this gospel, and they come in because they are drawn of the Father (Jn 6:44). But the rest do not see its true light, even though it shines upon them, and even though some of them might walk amidst the children of light. Likewise, the seed of the Sower commands all; but not all have ears to hear, for to them it has not been given, and these (being many) are judged according to it.

And he said to him, “If they will not hear Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if one from the dead should rise.”
Luke 16:31

We like to suppose that the ground can be changed by the seed, if only the ground does the right thing with the seed. But in truth, the ground will be judged according to what the seed does with the ground, and it does not abide bad ground. “For nothing is hidden which will not be revealed.” We also miss the purpose of the warnings given to every ear, such as, “be careful how you hear,” or the reason for exhortations to seek God with all of the heart. For the warnings against falling away and the exhortations to seek the Lord are all serving to suggest that hard ground can deceive itself into thinking that it is good soil. For “whoever does not have, even what he SEEMS to have will be taken from him.” Time will tell the truth of mens’ hearts, and the Day will bring all to light.

Examine yourselves, whether you are in the faith, prove yourselves. Or do you not yourselves perceive that Jesus Christ is in you, unless you are reprobates? And I hope you will know that we are not reprobates.
2 Corinthians 13:5-6

For who determines the nature of the soils? If it were up to the choice of man, then no soil would ever become good. For in Adam, “there is not one doing good, there is not one seeking after God.” But it takes a hearing ear to seek after God; and it is His alone to give to whomever He wills.

Therefore,

Everyone believing (Grk: present & ongoing faith: used consistently by John to describe authentic fruitful faith, not a whimsical belief, nor even potential faith) that Jesus is the Christ, HAS been generated from God…
1 John 5:1

Faith that endures to the end is the result of true regeneration, not the other way around.

So then, to whom He desires, He shows mercy. And to whom He desires, He hardens. You will then say to me, “Why does He yet find fault? For who has resisted His will?”
Bu rather, O man, who are you answering against God? Shall the thing formed say to the One forming it, “Why did You make me like this?” Or does not the potter have authority over the clay, out of the one lump to make one vessel to honor, and one to dishonor? What if God, desiring to show forth wrath, and to make His power known, endured in much long-suffering vessels of wrath having been fitted out for destruction, s that He make known the riches of His glory on vessels of mercy which He before pepared for glory?
Romans 9:18-23

God deals justly with all, and to some of them He gives mercy by dealing justly with their sin in the death of Christ. For this very reason we proclaim with great confidence the command of the Gospel: because He has a particular people whom He is calling each by name; and His command will bring them in, while at the same time it will judge the ones who do not obey, as is their nature.

For He came to gather the lost sheep of His own house; but unto the rest He says, “You will not believe, because you are not of my sheep.” His sheep hear His voice, He knows them, and they follow Him; but to the self-deceivers He says again, “I never knew you.” They are judged righteously according to the willful rebellion of their hearts; because self-will is the only will of those not generated from God, and they love their own will.

Where the will of men is given the throne by its being pleaded with rather than its being commanded, the gospel being preached is no longer the power of God – not that there is another gospel.

There is a great hatred in the body of Christ today for this truth of God’s sovereignty, just as it has always been drifted away from shortly after its light was revived. I have at times been guilty of questioning it myself, but have very recently been graciously dragged back to it by the Lord. He made this matter clear at first, and I reseisted it for a time; but now the clarity of His Word regarding these things is stunning, and I can take no credit for it. Truly His gospel is the command which tries the hearts! If I ever had anything to do with God’s mercy being bestowed upon me, then He is no God.

The Fifth Day – Life In Abundance

And God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarmers having a soul of life; and let the birds fly over the earth, on the face of the expanse of the heavens.”
Genesis 1:20 (LITV)

The life of God must begin its reign in the heart of the creature – in the earth which has passed through water and the Spirit. We saw by the third day that such is the case, on which day life sprang up to be observed: rooted from the ground below and reaching heavenward, bearing fruit and perpetuating its own kind through the giving over of its own precious seed once more to the ground. For it is in dying to the things of earth held precious that more and even greater things are able to be sown unto reaping.

Yet that is still not the end of maturity for the making of the new creature in Christ; it turns out only to be the furnishing for that which is yet to follow. The earth (or for our purposes here, the heart) which has given itself to the bearing of good fruit welcomes the inner radiance of Christ and the rule of His light in all seasons (day four), capacitating His new creation to host deeper and higher expressions of God’s life.

And God created the great sea animals, and all that creeps, having a living soul, which swarmed the waters, according to its kind; and every bird with wing according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

“…having a soul of life… ..having a living soul…” – This is the stage where the various expressions of the Life of God within the creature begin to take on a life all their own. The uniqueness of God’s manifold wisdom in each life is meant to so thrive. The expressions of life which grace the waters are not bound to the surface of them, though at times they may dance between the waters and the air, welcoming the onlooker to search out the depths. And they which grace the heavens in their flight are not continually bound to the surface of the earth, though they often rest near it to establish their dwelling and to multiply their kind. That is to say, where the Life of God is truly at work, it should with maturity become observable in a plurality of expressions; from the hights of heaven’s most glad worship to the depths of the most burdened intercession.

These new expressions of Life in God’s creation are of a higher and more glorious form than the aforementioned plants and trees. They in fact utilize those things simply as their food and as the furnishings of their abode. The good fruit of the ground becomes sustenance for the living creatures in the air and waters, just as the fruitful obedience of Christ to His Father was His daily bread. For the Life which bears the fruit of the Spirit through the creature becomes bread accessible unto others; and in so becoming, its vessel in turn is fed by feeding. What a glorious cycle to be caught up in! Give the Life of God, and you shall receive it in abundance! This descibes not a “karmic” principle by which to gain, but the ongoing sustenance of a selfless living creature unto the glory of He alone who raises it up. This is the evidence of the word of God at last finding freedom enough within us to begin evidencing itself as that unbound word which it truly is.

And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas; and let the birds multiply in the earth.” And there was evening, and there was morning the fifth day.

There must, by obedience to every command of the Spirit, develop a harmonious melody of free and spontaneous Life within the creature; each part properly complimenting the other as every wonderful decree of God sets its rhythm. The whole of the new creature cannot operate with perfection where any one of its parts is absent or broken in function – this applies both to an individual child of God as well as to the body of Christ. The body is either built up or torn down according to the obedience of the parts, and likewise the parts are either edified or torn down according to the obedience of the whole. By this, the whole is made fit for the King of Glory to fully enter in: the very Son of God, unto whose image the conformity of the redeemed is predestined. And shall the elect continue giving themselves over to that perfect will of God? Before us this choice continually lies.

As Peter wrote to those of like precious faith:

The Lord of the promise is not slow, as some deem slowness, but is long-suffering toward us (the church), not having purposed any of us (the church) to perish, but all of us (the church) to come to repentance.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with rushing sound, and having burned the elements will be dissolved, and earth and the works in it will be burned up. Then all these being about to be dissolved, what sort ought you (the church) to be in holy behavior and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the Day of God, through which the heavens having been set afire will be dissolved; and burning, the elements will melt?

The Third Day – Fruit Of The Spirit

And God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be collected to one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so. And God called the dry land, Earth. And He called the collection of the waters, Seas. And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:9-10

God’s work in separating our waters from His (see previous article) brings upon us the ability and thereby also the responsibility to subdue our own raging waters, so that we as the instruments of His will might not hinder the continued work of His Spirit in and through us.

Excerpt from previous section:
The new creature which submits itself to the word continues discovering the evidence of even greater depths in God far above its present experiential knowledge; thirsting always to drink deeper of that eternal spring so that even the waters of earth below might be made conformable to the word of His mouth…”

“Let the waters under the heavens be collected to one place.” – It is a grave mistake to suppose that just because God has separated our earthly waters from His heavenly ones, He wants nothing to do with them. Truly, He wants to be the only One to do with them: they must also become His waters, for unto His glory they are created. But this can only occur to the degree that we ourselves give them up unto His designs – such obedience is our responsibility. It is by the allowance of His increase within us that we ourselves decrease. There is a purpose for our waters, and it is for a very particular and focused calling, hence the gathering of them into ONE place.” This represents the specific calling of every creature in Him, whatever that may be for each one. For once having partaken of His waters, in drinking more of Him we find greater power to conform our own waters according to His calling.

Subsequent to the second day’s obedience of the dividing of the waters, the third day’s work is revealed in discipline of our unruly waters by the word of His mouth: “Let dry land appear.” This now establishes His solid ground within us, raising up the humbled earthen creature to bear fruit of the Spirit of the Lord…

And God said, “Let the earth sprout tender sprouts, the plant seeding seed, the fruit tree producing fruit according to its kind, whichever seed is in it on the earth.” And it was so.
Genesis 1:11

The planting of God produces various fruits according to the measure of grace given it, which also produce fruit after its own kind. Just as a tree yields others of its kind after itself, so also the fruitful Christian plants the seeds of their Godly virtues in the soil of another’s heart. It is on this third day, after the dry land appears, that the inward work of the Spirit is becoming outwardly evident. Just as the dove later sent from Noah sought out dry new ground, and did not settle until such was found; so also the Spirit of the Lord ever seeks within us the hidden ground in which His roots can spread deeply to support His fruit above, according to the calling with which we have been called.

And the earth bore tender sprouts, the plant seeding seed according to its kind, and the fruit tree producing fruit according to its kind, whichever seed is in it. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening, and there was morning the third day.
Genesis 1:12-13

The third day initiates growth in God: it is the day of resurrection which brings up a fruitful harvest through the dying of former things; so that the coming days might become fully lighted by the sun from within the creation, and even the darkness of each night season be kept lit by that hope of the Day of Christ burning within them as a candle

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
John 12:24-25
